CONSTRUCTION / COMMERCIAL & CONTRACTS

Agree the technology requirement. Understand the commitment.

A customer’s device, access or security requirement can affect the price, the programme and the handover. Use these checks with IT before you agree what your business will provide.

Check the customer requirement
FOUR USEFUL CHECKS

Before the answer becomes a commitment.

Use the customer’s actual wording. These are questions to settle with the relevant IT, project and commercial colleagues, rather than assumptions to put into a bid.

01

What has the customer actually specified?

Record the required apps, device rules, identity checks and security evidence. Ask IT to confirm what the current setup can deliver before committing to extra controls.

02

What will it cost to provide?

Check handsets, mobile data, licences, setup, support and replacements. Agree whether the allowance sits with the project, the business or a subcontractor.

03

Who is responsible when the work changes?

Record who requests access changes, who administers the systems and who deals with a client-controlled portal. Put the service responsibilities into the handover.

04

What must continue after completion?

Agree access for defects or maintenance separately from the project record that needs to be retained. Review ongoing SIMs and licences against their contract terms.

TAKE IT TO THE RIGHT COLLEAGUES

Cost the requirement before you commit.
